New Soy Based Products

Press Release Body = Fergus Falls, MN - Aug 20, 2006 - Soy Candle Works
(www.soycandleworks.com) announces their new and innovative line of soy products to
the national community. The ever growing popularity of the renewable soybean
presents the opportunity for Soy Candle Works to introduce a new, highly fragranced
line of soy candles.

Years ago the National Candle Association imposed a voluntary ban on lead wicks in
the candle community in the U.S. This ban has not been enforced. There are no laws
regulating the use of lead or zinc in imported candles. The producers of many of
these candles have been cited in product liability suits for causing millions of
dollar in soot damages to homes. The lead/zinc wicks along with the petroleum
products in most candles produce black or gray deposits on walls, ceilings,
heating/ventilation air conditioning vents, plastic items, carpeting, electronics,
etc. Worse yet are the health issues that have come to light. The benzene,
toluene, and vinyl chloride which they emit while burning are believed to be the
cause of an increase in respiratory infections and illness. These are the elements
that make second-hand tobacco smoke so damaging to our health.

Soy Candle Works is proud to say that we respect the ban on lead/zinc and use only
the finest cotton wicks. Our line contains no petroleum based products for a
cleaner, healthier and less allergenic end product. There are so many good reasons
to embrace the soy world. According to the National Candle Association, "Candle
lovers can find safe solace in soy-based alternatives" as long as lead/zinc free
wicks are not used. When burned, soy emits no toxins or carcinogens making it
environmentally friendly. These properties combined with the all cotton wicks
produce little to no soot. Its properties make it safe to be used in food
preparation hence safe around children and pets. Because of its healthy properties,
soy use is being encouraged by the American Cancer Association as well as the
American Lung Association.

Buying soy is also a sound financial decision. Since soy is a U.S. produced product
buying products made from it strengthens our country's economy by supporting the
local agricultural community. If soy replaced paraffin it would take 60 million
pounds of soybeans annually to supply the candle industry. By keeping our money
here there is less possibility of supporting terror across the world

About Soy Candle Works

Soy Candle Works opened for business four years ago as a small cottage industry but
has since expanded operations to its own facility. What started out as a 3 product
line is now made up of 10 candle styles/products in 140 different fragrances.
"Besides the candles we are very excited about many new products we have on the
horizon," says Phyl Rust, CEO. "There just isn't anything you can't make out of a
soybean. The only barrier is the lack of time to perfect the products."
